Divya did her internship and project guidance with Hedge School in Marketing and HR while doing her MBA from Albertian College, Ernakulam. It’s in Hedge she came to understand that equity and share are in fact the same. She was attracted to the concept of SIP and started her first SIP with a small amount of 500 Rs while during her orientation. “Classes by Benil Sir had a lot of activities, which made classes extremely interesting.” Hedge School provided a solid base equipping her with product knowledge. An opportunity to take classes at Hedge School at times also helped take away the fear of taking classes. She was able to take a full day college program and considers it as a very good experience. After the internship, she got an offer to join Hedge Equities, where she worked for 2 years. And here she was exposed to all aspects of equity, MF, liquid and debt funds which was extremely beneficial for her and provided a solid base for her in finance. She then moved on to work with Geojit and currently she works as Cluster Support Senior Officer at Yes Bank.
Divya attributes her interest in finance to Hedge School and she is a strong believer that we all can start investing no matter how small our capital is; if we know how to do it properly. Her advice to all those entering the field of finance is, “start investments personally then the fear will go away.”
