“I’m a marketing major, and was quite apprehensive about interning with a financial services firm. However, at the end of the internship, I was quite pleased with the experience. There were internship roles in marketing that the company was offering, and I was allocated a project related to the marketing of financial products. The program started at Hedge school and we continued there for a few days with training and a comprehensive study on the financial world, products and the different avenues of investment available, as well as some analysis techniques. After this was done, we headed over to the corporate office where our projects were assigned to us, and we worked on these projects for the remainder of the internship, post which we were asked to submit a detailed report and present our findings. The company also provided an opportunity to undergo an exam conducted in association with KASE, and get certified in these respective areas. Apart from the professional grooming and study of our project areas, this internship has provided me valuable insights into the nuances of investing, which have helped me with my personal investments as well.”
